- Waiʻalae means mudhen water. It is a neighborhood of Honolulu east of Kaimukī, and Waiʻalae Country Club is here; Waiʻalae Iki and Waiʻalae Nui climb the ridge above it. The flat part sits between the freeway and Kāhala, and the ridge part is a long way up by car and worth it for the view back over the whole south shore. source
