- Hahaʻione Valley opens off Hawaiʻi Kai Drive past the north end of the marina and splits into a lower and an upper half. The lower half is the older one, built mostly in the 1970s — roughly 320 homes on the valley floor. Hahaʻione Neighborhood Park is at 780 Ainapo Street, and Hahaʻione Elementary, at 595 Pepeekeo Street, runs an International Baccalaureate program. The marina the whole valley faces is man-made: dredging of the ancient Kuapā fishpond began around 1959. source
